Ideal Welsummer pullets at 13-14 wks - photos

I know I'm getting mine for more than just the egg color. I like what I've read about the disposition of these birds along with their laying consistency and the fact they tolerate cold temperatures. If they lay dark eggs great, if their brown i won't breed them.

I just got 15 Welsummer chicks from Ideal on Friday. I sure hope that they lay dark brown eggs - I've been waiting for them to hatch since before they were laid. lol

I was surprised mine took 2 days in shipping as I live less than 100 miles from Ideal, but as it turns out mine were shipped from New Mexico, not TX.

Anyone else get their Ideal Welsummers from NM? Wonder if the quality is different from TX hatched Welsummers.

I don't know where mine came from - didn't think to check the box. Is it Privett that is in NM?

These are beautiful girls! I have two which I got from Performance Poultry in Ontario, Canada. They are about 15 weeks old now. Can't wait for them to start laying.
