We have coyotes and bobcats etc. I do not want to use the typical chain link dog run to enclose the coop and run. Is there something else that is aesthetically appealing to use? I would prefer not to build from scratch. Coop and run hold about 10 chickens. Thanks

I was just going to ask a similar question. I live in the Santa Monica mountains and our main issue is with coyotes and mountain lions. I'm thinking using expanded metal for the vents in the coop and cattle panels backed with hardware cloth for the run. You could look into euro style or welded wire dog kennels for more strength. However, you'd probably still want to attach some hardware cloth to it. Easy to do.

Wrap some aluminum foil around the hot wire and put some peanut butter or whatever they like on there. When they lick it, they will get a good shock.

I like the idea of euro style, think bobcats can get through that?

Probably not, but hot wire might still be a good idea and/or an anti-dig apron.

I hope you have a huge budget.

Bobcats can jump or scale 6’ or more of fencing, overhead barriers hardware cloth bent out or hot wire recommended.

What about wood (spaced to let light through) picket fence or lattice fence as high as you want with hardware cloth attached?
