I currently have 10 or so pigeons in coop made out of a converted dog kennel. I am going to be buying 5 homers this weekend and probably 5 or so more in the next few weeks. Realistically, what size coop should I make for these birds? Is there a general rule of thumb for how much space they need? Thanks

If anybody has any pictures, please post them. I am not looking to make anything fancy, just something practical.

You could use a loft similar to the ones I'm including pix. These belong to
backyard pigeons
You are going to be keeping 20 pigeons plus whatever little ones add to population in coming time.

I built my loft this past weekend. It is 5ft deep, 6ft wide and 6ft tall. Any thoughts?

Nice spacious loft. Only thing I see deficient is the predator proofing. A raccoon can rip thru chicken wire. I would add a second layer of welded 2 x 4 or 2 x 2 welded wire on exterior. Bottom 3 feet all around.

Good idea. I caught a possum in my other pen. My wife called to tell me. When i got home he was sleeping on the ground. Dont think he got any birds, but he got a .22 round to keep him asleep.
