Ideas for conversion of dog run

Hi all. I’m looking for some ideas and insight on converting a 10x21 chain link dog run. It currently has no top either. I know the basics of adding hardware cloth around it and such. I would like some help with the roof ideas.

It would be nice to have a second roof, even a tarp, over the coop. This will help keep it cooler. To cool the run, you could run a tarp on the west side for shade in the summer. The tarp wouldn't have to cover the entire side, you need a shady spot. In the winter put it on the side that gets the most hard wind, which I think will also be on the west side. You can switch to clear plastic for the winter to get more sunlight.

I have the same run...I covered mine with tin. I drilled holes into the top rail and bolted a 2x4 on, then attached joists across to attach the tin to. Be sure and put an extra 2x4 on one side to create a slope for runoff. Works like a champ.
