Ideas for Good Breeds

Anyone know great breeds for pets? I know everyone has an opinion so share your stories. It'd mean a lot to me.

IMO start with your climate and then select the friendliest breeds that do well there. Lots of breeds can be friendly depending on how they're raised - even supposedly flighty breeds.

Use that info to find what you want in addition to pet quality, i.e. egg size, color, quantity, plumage color, bird size, ability to forage, tendency to go broody, etc..
Keep in mind that the calmest, most docile birds can become better prey for predators.

Welsh and pekins are pretty good most ducks are really nervous.

Oh thanks. I had 4 Pekin girls but they are gone because they were attacked but I loved them to death.
