I bought a dozen chick eggs to put in my incubator. They shipped yesterday. Today I get an email saying she messed up my order and sent me 2 dozen instead of 1 dozen. My incubator can only fit about 15 eggs if I'm careful.

After digging around for my second incubator I can only find the TOP of the incubator. The heating part. It still works perfectly. My eggs will be here tomorrow so I don't have time to find another incubator. I was thinking I could probably jury-rig the Janoel top. Any suggestions on how? I was thinking maybe a styrofoam cooler? I can hand turn them no problem.

I tried asking in my local chicken group for an incubator/broody with no luck. My local feed stores are also out.

I'm not familiar with this incubator so can you please take a picture of the part that you have?

Is it square or round is what I want to know?

It's this one. I have the top half of it, where the seam is.

I think what I would do is buy one of those cheap styrofoam ice chest.
Hold let me get a picture real quick.

Pretend this box is a styrofoam ice chest.

I would stuff a towel in it.

Then put eggs on some grippy shelf liner.

Then I would put the lid that you have on top of this towel and maybe put another towel rolled up along the outside edge of the lid.

Does that make sense?

But before I put eggs I would put the lid with a couple of thermometers and leave it running for a day or two to test it.

I can't really think of a reason why it wouldn't work.

Sweet, I'll try that! Thank you so much. It's a happy surprise, but a surprise for sure.

Just to be sure to test the temperature for a good full 24 hours before you put eggs in it.
