Ideas for jury rigging an incubator with the top of a Janoel 12?

Pretend this box is a styrofoam ice chest.

I would stuff a towel in it.

Then put eggs on some grippy shelf liner.

Then I would put the lid that you have on top of this towel and maybe put another towel rolled up along the outside edge of the lid.

Does that make sense?

Would you believe I can't find one of these anywhere? I have a friend who's incubating them for a few days luckily. I've called all over and nobody has styrofoam anything. Just cooler bags.

I see them at gas stations in my area.

What about posting an ad on your local craigslist?
A lot of people get food delivered or medication delivered in these type of ice chests.

In case anyone else needs the info, it turns out your slow cooker/crock pot will work as an incubator. I ended up with too many eggs to fit inside the Styrofoam container. So in a desperate attempt to buy me time until Amazon's one showed up I put them in my slow cooker. I took out the ceramic part, wrapped it in a towel, and put the eggs inside in an egg container. Popped my incubator top on it, wrapped in another towel, and it's fine. I have a humidity/temp gauge with prongs I set inside. I know for a fact that it's correct. Temps have been holding steady so far.


... I hope I don't need the slow cooker for a while. It's busy baking babies. Who are developing just fine despite the odd incubator.
