Ideas for something similar to plexiglass

That is a great idea but so far I'm only finding it for commercial use.
I could also use that on my chain link fencing to block the wind on the west side. Would be perfect.
Amazon sell a clear tarp. With the grommets in it to hang or secure. It has a solid white grid printed on it Don't know if that would work.

Some ideas for the "instead of plexiglass"

1. corrugated clear roofing panels
2. twin wall polycarbonate sheets (used on some greenhouses)
3. Getting desperate, lol... those plastic floor mats used under desk chairs

I use plastic sheeting that then has snow fence over it. Not hanging, but is attached with zip ties.
Thanks! Will give a look at the polycarbonate sheets. I really want something rigid. I do have marine tarp but I would prefer something that is easier to put up and remove when I don't need it.

The polycarbonate panels are very expensive. The corrugated roofing panels will be the least costly. Those can be cut with tin snips or heavy duty shears.

I only need 2 ft high panels...but then I need one 8 ft long and the other 42 inches.
I was looking at plexiglass today at Home Depot...can't believe how expensive that is.

I know you said you are looking for something like plexiglass. I too would like that, but the price has scared me off. I see the advantages in being able to reuse every year. Our first year we used plastic from Home Depot. It is really opaque and lasted very well. In fact the portion we put up under the coop (pointed out in red) we left on year round for over two years.
Last winter and this winter we have moved to dollar store shower curtains. They are very see through. And they will last the winter. We reuse the wood and screws to install each winter.

Just an option to get through the harshest of the winter.

That is a great idea...
So I can make a frame and then attach the vinyl or whatnot to that...so it can be removed later on. :D

Actually that (a frame) is your idea. :thumbsup I sort of tape the bottom shower curtain to the bottom board. Roll the curtain a wrap or two around the board, then screw into place. Repeat at the top. Then add additional boards to secure and prevent flapping. But your idea of a premade frame is much better. It would also allow a better fit. You can see where the curtain has some wrinkles. I am not much of a builder. Using the Home Depot 4 mil opaque plastic might be just what you need. And could be removed each spring. I guess next year I have a new model.

Here is a picture with one side partially installed. Your frame idea is either genius, or I need some remedial building lessons. ;)

haha I wasn't sure if you actually had a frame but it looked like one, so one idea blossomed into another. That is the perfect solution! I have a stapler so I can just staple the plastic or whatever to the frame.

I'm thinking I can just attach the frame with bolts, which are easily removeable.

Harder to store rigid sheets.

Just use two 'frame' pieces, then you can roll it up for storage.
Wrap the 'tarp' around the frame a couple times, before bolting to run, so staples don't pull loose.
