This is my first time with chicks - we have four 8 week old Wyandottes - and I built them a coop from a kit (which I am busy reinforcing). They need more room so I got a chain link dog kennel with a gate (which I am also reinforcing). My problem is that I really want them to have access to the coop and the run during the day but the run is too small to accommodate the coop.
Any one have any ideas on how I can attach them? Right now, we have the door on the coop matched up to the gate on the kennel but if we leave the doors open, the chickens could easily jump out (too many gaps and it won't work if the gaps are reinforced with 2x4's). If we pull them closer together, then we can't get in.
Has anyone else had this problem? Thanks for any help!!!
