I just had a hatch that did not go well. I started with 24 mixed brown eggs.19 made it to lockdown, 8 hatched over a period of 2 days.Temps did fluctuate some but never above 103 in an LG Still Air.The lowest point was on day 18-19 where it was 96 for a few hours...maybe 6?
Humidity was 50-55% to day 18, then 62-70% throughout the hatch.
I'm thinking I had not enough ventilation. I had one red plug out and one in.
I can't think of any other reason for 9 that never pipped.I also had 2 pip... start to zip...then die.
Any ideas on how to improve my hatch? I am getting a fan to try in one of the LG's (I have 4, 2 with turners, 2 without) I'm thinking to put the fan in one with a turner and have one LG Still Air for just hatching.
Any ideas on ventilation? And what do you think is a critical humidity level throughout?
