Ideas to make landings easier?

What about a rubber mat somehow? I would think you could still spray it off if you wanted to

Yeah, that's a good idea, and what I'm looking at now - might be able to cut a door mat in half and glue it on there or something. I originally thought astroturf strips would do the trick, but I don't think they'd be very easy to clean and the birds might try eating it.

Hard to tell from photo - but do you have room to add some smaller perches in between the landings? Maybe don’t need to make it a softer landing, just a way to work their way down? Not sure if that would make it too crowded, but just a thought!
