This little one was in the Silkie SR brooder at our local Tractor Supply. It walked right up to me and thought it was cute so I grabbed it. It’s about 4 weeks old and I’m just now realizing it’s not a Silkie

It’s very small and slow growing compared to the rest of my flock.

Here is our little Brahma named Sweetie now. I went back and verified dates and it is 8 weeks old this week. I’ve been reading about gender feathers in dark Brahma’s and I’m really confused. Anyone have any insight as to if Sweetie is a pullet or a cockerel?

PS don’t mind Lucille Ball in the right hand corner. She’s a nosey one 🤣

I'm thinking cockerel, but that is the strangest pattern I've ever seen on a Dark Brahma. It almost looks like it has mottling.
