I have 18 hens and 1 roo.. he seams to be pretty busy, but the eggs i've been checking I can't seam to find anything but yolk, do i need to use a magnifying glass to see the ring?

Nope. It should be glaringly obvious. A round little bullseye somewhere on the yolk. About the size of a small pea.
If you use the search button here on BYC, there should be some pics out there

You will be able to see them with the naked eye when you know what you're looking for. It's much easier to see them in person than it is to take a photo of them! Here are a few that I photographed & Photoshopped:

Guess my rooster is not doing his job, i have yet to find an egg that has anything visable in the yolk.. i've check a dozen or so the past few days, Is there a time of the year that they are more likely to be furtile?

If you have a rooster, he's most likely fertilizing when you are not around. Your best bet is to set a few eggs and see what you get. You can either test them until you see veins and then get rid of the eggs, or let them develop until hatching. Either way, that has always been my best bet for testing whether eggs are fertile or not.

18 hens is alot for only 1 Roo... For good fertility I would get a second Roo if you are wanting most of your eggs to come out fertile... Just my opinion...

Nope, blood is not an indicator of a fertile egg. There's not enough rooster to go around for all of those hens, but I'd bet there are more fertile eggs than you realize!
