Ok so my chicks are 5 weeks old and are growing like weeds and are all feathered out with their real feathers now except for one she barely has any "big girl" feathers at all, a few on her wings and the rest are the fluffy chick feathers but she isn't a Silkie. At first I just thought she was a slow developer, maybe like kids they develop at different stages or pace than each other. But she is much smaller (same size as my silkie which is half the size of the others) and hasn't developed her feathers. She is not being bullied away from the food because I sit there and hold/play with my chickens during feeding time so I know she is eating just like the others. I'm just wondering what breed she is, we originally thought white leghorn, or if there is something wrong with her that she doesn't seem to be developing or is she not a leghorn and instead a different breed that develops/looks different like my silkie. I have included 2 pictures of her and a picture of the leghorns that are the same age to compare how they look. She's in with my Silkie, Buff Orpington & an Easter Egger (they are divided into Large Rubbermaid bins while the coop is being built) so you can see her size compared to those breeds. Thanks!
