My bird are now 9 weeks old (you can look at some older pics from last month here: https://www.backyardchickens.com/threads/new-member-from-north-georgia.1550229/)
On the guinea side of the flock, I think I have 5 to 6 males based on relative size, the calls they make, and so on.
For example, I think these 9 week olds here are males.
While the guinea in the sandbox on the right is a female.
On the chicken side of things, most of the birds appear to be legbars (partridge cream legbars).
9 weeks old. Most are varying shades of dark gray with yellowish speckled feathers around the neck. Breast feathers tend to be reddish-brown. They all have crests ranging from this rather subtle one ones that stand straight up and spread out wider than their heads.
This one is unique in that she's a medium gray with reddish feathers on her head & breast.
Two of the birds are varying shades of light gray. They're somewhat shyer (at least when I take the camera o out). You can see one slinking away behind the 2nd guinea in the top picture. Here's a better picture at 7 weeks old:
I'm thinking they're some sort of olive egger mixed from a legbar and ?
Next up I have three birds that are black & speckled white. All have leg & foot feathers, while two also have developed what looks like either a neck ruff or a beard.
9 weeks old. I'm thinking an olive egger based on a cuckoo maran or a straight cuckoo maran?
Next up is this lovely black & silver bird. Somewhat camera shy. From the pictures I've seen I'm definitely going with olive egger on this one. I'd love to figure out the exact strain because it's a gorgeous bird.
Last is the most difficult to get pictures of. Not because she's shy (the friendliest bird in the flock, in fact), but because she's constantly moving and REALLY fast.
She's the one on the left at 5 and half weeks old. She's not got much in the way of tail feathers. I'm thinking black copper maran.
And, for no reason at all, here's a picture of chicks & keets at 6-1/2 weeks old about to scare the hell out of the cat.
