Hi we acquired an old cockerel and have recently bought some hens of Dark cooko maran and Cream legbars.
Mainly for the egg colours being dark brown and blue.
Not entirely sure what breed if any in particular but hoping someone can give some pointers as to his breed and what we might get if we were to hatch some eggs in the future from the hens.
Previous owner said may be a bit of Orpington in him but have no clue tbh.
Also if we were to hatch the eggs is there a best or sure way to sex any chicks?.

You can make a good guess by taking the chicks at 3 days old and spreading their wings. USUALLY males will have straight line of feathers, while females will have long feathers in the front and short in the back.
Also at 7 days old, girls will have longer feathers, compared to boys.
Boys will have LESS feathers or shorter feather. until they’re like, 2 weeks old.
After that if becomes difficult. Make sure they’re the SAME breed when comparing them.

He is very pretty!! I think the term heinz 57 fits him. No way for sure to know what you will get from the two but I'm interested.
