Identifying 3 Week Old Chicks by Breed- Mystery Chick?

Also- if it helps at all, I'm fairly certain that he/she hatched out of a tan/light brown egg. It may be too young to tell what breed it is, which is totally fine.

Yup, it looks and sounds like a barred rock to me. But, i could be mistaking it for a Dominique or a California Grey. It's like telling EEs apart from Amerucanas

When it gets older if it is a Cuckoo Maran it will have more pink-tan legs, dominiques will have a rose comb, (instead of "spikes" lined up on the head it will be a walnut-like shape.) and if it is a California Grey, it will usually have a fan-like tail if hen.

Oh wonderful! Thank you very much. Part of the fun of hatching mystery chicks from the egg is guessing their breed. I've been researching different breeds a lot and will love to read some of the BYC articles. We actually did get an Americauna in the bunch, a blue one, and she's secretly my favorite because she's got puffy little cheeks and is colored grey like a baby penguin! We're ordering BR and RRR for our second coop so if she does turn out to be a BR she'll have good company. And we're building them a nice big coop too, 10ft by 12ft, we're hoping they'll be really happy there!

Hey! I’m new to this website and was also looking for some insight as to what type of chick I have! She’s three weeks old (five days in the third pic), black (not grey, although she might look it in the pictures) with white feathers near her tail and yellow around her face and neck. She was a hatchery choice rare so the options I’ve narrowed it down to are: midnight majesty madam, cuckoo madam, French black copper Karan, French cuckoo madam, a cochon, or dark Brahma. It’s worth nothing that she is much bigger than my other chicks (salmon faverolle, midnight majesty maran, Easter eggers and a Colombian Wyandotte. Her size, black coloring without any brown or pattern, and the fact that she has feathers on her feet makes me lean towards her being a black Cochin, but I’m not sure. Any help would be much appreciated!! Also let me know if you need better pictures, she just moves around too much to get a good one!
