Identifying a print

Dog. Large dog at that. Your neighbors' dog about 100 lbs.? If so I'll bet he's the culprit. My 110 lb. wolf hybrid had feet that size. We do have coy dogs in New England, but they don't usually get that big and coyotes generally top out at 85 lbs. up here, too. So, probably domesticated dog.

German Shepherds can leave very big tracks for their size because of the way they walk and how their foot is constructed. Might be a big German Shepherd.

Thanks so much for all the responses. In a sense I hope it's my neighbors dog (shepard mix)...the evil you know, versus the evil you don't know. My neighbor's already aware of my apprehensions. If they're not going to control the dog, I have no problem taking care of the problem.

Oh - and to answer your question - the neighbors dog is 100lbs easy!

My Jack Russell discovered our electric fence today. One snap to the nose, at 10,000 volts, left her shaking for awhile. I only wish I could watch the raccoon or fox that comes to investigate my pen know.

It is some sort of canine. What ever it is it will be back. Better be ready.
