Can anybody tell me if my Red Golden pheasants are purebred(or at least close to it)? Before I got them, I didn't know that there was a genetic purity issue with Red Goldens. The breeder seemed reputable and trustworthy, so I had no reason to doubt I'd be getting good quality birds. But, it wasn't too long ago that I realized my male and female are more than likely related. He did tell me when we toured his bird area that he had two males, and I'm almost certain I remember him saying he only had one female pheasant. I know that line breeding is fine with birds(sometimes it's even encouraged), but I'm not okay with inbreeding siblings if the pheasants aren't even purebred. I've tried looking at several sites and pictures of purebred birds, and to me they look purebred, but I am certainly no expert. I'd really like it if multiple people could confirm or disprove their purity, rather than me taking just one person's opinion as complete truth. Better or closer pictures can be gotten if needed. Thank you for your help!
