Hello! Just today, we purchased ourselves some ISA brown chicks, 25. I was thinking of ways to ID them. They all are yellow/gold and look EXACTLY alike. I've used zip ties before but in my experience, it wasn't fantastic. I was thinking of dotting them on the head with some temporary dye or paint. Tempra paint or food coloring? Is it safe? Someone mentioned nail polish but I'd assume the fumes aren't healthy for the little buggers.

I have "non toxic" fabric spray paint. A different color for each "identical" bird. Spray on their collar and back. Repaint every 4 ish months at least for adult birds. Probably more frequently for young birds going through feathers more frequently.

With 25 you may have to make some combo colors like "you are red, you are yellow, you are orange, you are red and yellow, etc."
