Does anyone have a method of determining which hen lays which egg when you have all the same breed. I have just you pullets in my two new flocks and I want to start tracking their egg laying when the time comes. Thanks!

If they are all the same breed, it's going to be hard. Sometimes they lay slightly different shapes, but that can change for each egg.
I saw in one of my FB groups a post from a woman that claimed she knew exactly which of her chickens laid which egg and I can't for the life of me figure out how.

I red something somewhere - maybe in a post on this site - that someone said you could put a smear or drop of food coloring right near the vent and then when they lay, the color transfers? Then you’d know which bird laid which egg, at least temporarily. I don’t know how you’d know long-term though for tracking purposes. Please don’t take that as a recommendation, I have never done it nor do I know if it’s legit, but I’m pretty sure someone mentioned it SOMEWHERE.

I thought I had read that, too, but I wasn't sure how to go about it. I'll have to keep searching. Thank you!

Eh....might be an exaggeration.
I have had 2 of the same breed that laid slightly different shape and color.
But first you have to catch them laying, and remember who laid which.

Yep, have read it too.....a few who actually did it.
Gel type food coloring works best....or lipstick works too.
Best to apply early in the morning so overnight poops don't wipe it all off.
