Hi guys.

I’ve got a mystery in my hands. I have a baby chick that was born a day ago from a very small egg. I got her from a mix of barnyard eggs so I have no idea what she (or he) is.

The chick is yellow fluff but I noticed it has five toes. It didn’t have black skin that I saw when it hatch so it couldn’t be a silkie.

I’m wondering if anyone have an idea what breed of chicken it is. Here’s the pics for our beautiful and mysterious chick.

Oh yes, very true! It really could be either at this age... I have seen white skinned babies come from silkie mixes before, especially with that conjoined 5th toe, but it could easily be a sultan mix as well... it would be easier to tell if it was an adult!
You’re right. I’m just curious since every silkie mix we get always has the black skin. This time was different so that is what got my gears turning. But either way, she’ll be a beautiful chicken
