We have a pheasant that came into the rehab facility and I am looking to place her/it. However, I don't know anything about pheasants. Can anyone tell me what kind she/it is? Specifically, is this a domestic (barnyard) pheasant rather than something wild? Thank you. I'm in central OK and we don't actually have wild pheasants in this area but I've heard there are some kind(s) in western OK. However, we suspect this is a domestic and will need a barnyard home. Here are links to the photos as I don't know how to put them in my post.

Any help appreciated. Thanks.

They are raised the same as ringnecks. The males have black on their throat, hens have brown. It's looks to be a young male, but you really can't see from the pic.I am going by the eye patch.

Thank you. The pheasant didn't really want me to take its picture! I will try to take note of the throat color on my next visit. I will need to find a home for the pheasant in the next few weeks - do they get along well with other fowl (chickens, turkeys, etc)? I don't know anyone with pheasants so may have to find other friends for it. Any recommendations would be appreciated - things I should look for in a good home for him/her.
