Identity age and gender

I'm trying to identify the age and gender of my new chick we were told he's a rooster but I'm not quite sure how to determine whether or not he is any help would be appreciated

Oh no - that's exactly what he is. I was talking to my kids about our chicks here. My brain was typing what I was thinking.

He/she is a Dark Brahma - yes.

Not a wyandotte. It looks like it is a mix of some sort.
