I have had the eggs incubating for 18 days now....so time to take them off the turner. Went to do that, and the egg turner was unplugged. He must have unplugged it a WEEK AGO!! when he installed the window air conditioners. Im so frustrated. Everything was perfect: temperature, humidity. I was sure they were all goingt o hatch, but they have now been in the same position for a week.

Please HATCH still!!

Do you think Im SOL???

I bet they'll still do pretty well. I haven't had that happen myself (eggs getting cold when a broody got confused though) but I've seen plenty of threads where the turner malfunctioned or a family emergency came up and the eggs didn't get turned. In most cases the hatches were pretty good anyhow. Let us know how it goes come hatch day.

You may have to help some of them out.

So what you are saying is, you don't check the turner every day????

They are due to hatch on the 3rd, so I will update and let you know. There are 34 eggs in there right now. Humidity is already rising...
Im just keeping my fingers crossed. He will hear it from me if they dont hatch!! This is only my second time trying, the first time only one hatched...and it didnt make it, so you can imagine how excited I am this time around.

Hi, There is always hope. They may be fine.....I have screwed up a lot during my learning curve and they hatched anyway..

Also, Just celebrated our 46th wedding aniversary....soooooooooooo
Just a little hint..don't stay mad at him to long. I am sure he didn'y mean to.
Good husbands are harder to find than good hatching eggs................

Good Luck. Let us know how it goes.

Good luck on your eggs...bet you get some to hatch, keep us updated!

This is something I found during my hours or research:

SUMMARY
1. Turning hens' eggs between the 4th and 7th day of incubation gives a
hatchability similar to that of eggs turned throughout incubation.
2. Turning the eggs between the 8th and 11th day gives a hatchability similar
to that of unturned eggs.

So it looks pretty good

Yes, they will probably be fine. Biological systems are tougher than we think, and momma hen wouldn't always turn them predictably,
Good Luck,
Sandie

Thanks for the replies. It helps a lot...I will post in a coupl eof days to let you know how many actually do hatch.
And yes I do feel bad about calling him an idiot. That was just me being frustrated with him. I do love my hubby, but you know how things get in the heat of being frustrated from time to time!
