if ducklings are raised by mama will they still love me?

My cousins duck hatched ducklings and he's giving me 2. Is it better for mama to raise them or me.
They are pets not eating. I want them to be friendly
And should I take 2 females or 2 males , I don't want them to inbreed so I don't want to take 1 of each.

Raise them yourself. They won't be friendly if a mom raises them.
