The male does not determine the colour of the egg.
Presuming the male to be a proper Ameraucana, he ought to be pure for the blue egg gene. The blue egg gene being dominant, his female offspring would lay green eggs. Presuming the mother to be a brown or tinted egg layer.
If he came from a green egg, he is an Easter Egger, not an ameraucana. If he has two copies of the blue egg gene his daughters will lay green eggs and his sons will inherit the ability to pass the gene to their daughters. If he has one copy of the blue egg gene, then half his offpsring will inherit it; and those daughters will lay a green egg & sons will be able to pass it to their offspring.
