If I get 6 Delawares and 6 Welsummers will they cross breed?

First timer wondering if I get two breeds of chicken do they crossbreed and if so how would I know before hatching?

Depends,

what roos to hens?

if you have a roo (all you need for 10 hens really) that is type/breed/color A and the hens are type/breed/color B - all 100% of fertile eggs will be crosses.

if you have one roo of each there will be no way except keeping them physically separated into flocks.

do u have a roo????? if so................................YES!! If not......................

A rooster will breed with any hen who lets him. You won't know who is the sire of the chicks before they hatch if you have two different roosters in with the hens. If you want purebreds, you need to separate the breeds.
