In what way would I keep them wild so they didn't camp out in my yard? I don't have any yet, but I am considering it.

In most cases, pheasants will not stick around, once let out. If not reared to be weary and wild, they will quickly become a meal for predators.
Some people claim to have success in "free ranging" but in general, it doesn't work.

Okay, thanks!

If you do let some go, I wouldn't sit in a bar and brag about it, In some states it is frowned upon by the DNR .
sylthecochi" pheasants are not quail..

trying to get them to hang around would be a real trick..

Where i live you need permits to release them/even raise ring necks. As they are classified as a game bird. (Sask canada)

I have bobwhites, and because one's hen died, I let the male go. for some kind of reason he stays around. (a couple weeks already!) trying to get the attention of a female
