if khaki campbells...

My drake has mated several times a day, every day since he has matured last summer. My duck lays daily. So, in my experience, yes. Do you plan on getting Khakis? <-- Whoops, just read your sig!

The two things are not linked like you may think. Ducks will lay even if there are no drakes around.

Our Khaki Campbell's breed all year round and the egg laying is good also except for this winter. Either we are going to find a bunch of eggs once this snow melts or they really did stop laying. We let our free range!

I can't wait to get my Campbell's. I hope they lay a good bit. I don;t expect to have a drake though. I am not wanting to breed, just want the eggs.

As far as I remember Mr. Sydney would mate year round. Maybe just more often in the warm weather. Everytime we washed out the pool for sure

Thanks for the replies.

Of the 5 ducklings i have got, one is a light khaki duck, one normal khaki duck and 3 drakes. I willl have to swap with someone for an unrelated drake for breeding. I do have a indian runner drake as well. I wonder what would turn out if I cross those...?

I was thinking of breeding them to sell a few to pay for the feed. They are eating me poor at the moment. Didn't think 5 ducklings can eat so much!!!

I have 5 pekin females and one halequin drake... going to set some eggs and see what I end up with... if anything.
