So I'm new to this whole chicken thing. I have 2 week old quails and decided to start a flock of chickens as well so I put my chicks into the brooder with my quail. This of course was ignorant on my part. I had no idea that chickens could give my quail any diseases. The man I bought my quail from before had his in with his chickens so I thought nothing of it. Well today I learned that my one bcm picked off all the back feathers on all my quail so I separated them. This individual bcm is bigger than the other chicks that I have. I have 7 in total. They are all about a week old. I tried to do some research and found all these feeds warning people about putting their quail in with chickens so I obviously will never do that again. I guess what my main question is do you think the one bcm that plucked all the quails feathers off is a cock just by his behavior?

Okay. So it's just impossible to tell when they're little? I guess I just need to wait it out to find out if they're a cock or pullet.
