Why do people start off a sentance with "I'm not being mean" when really their comment is as bad as what they're replying to?

I didn't start anything, I said no, gave my reason and was prepared to leave until others started quoting my post and accusing me of things I didn't intend. If a certain someone would have minded her own business none of this would have been started.

if thats the way you feal just don't respond. i was not being mean or bad i was just saying. please i get ALOT of real life drama i don't nead it on here too
