can you tell if it is fertile? And if so, how?

Silly question, I know.

I can candle pretty well and after day 7 in the 'bator I'm good to go but I just really don't think I know what a fertile, fresh egg looks like out of the shell--if there is any difference!??

How do I not know this? Someone help me out!

So cool! Well, I'm happy to know that the Marans and Polish eggs I put in the fridge for eating a few weeks ago because I wasn't ready to hatch are FERTILE! Good roosters!

I cracked open an egg from a local farm to compare and theirs was not fertile. So I'm reasonably sure that what I saw in my eggs was the bullseye/donut of a fertile egg.

Good thing I'm making a frittata for a brunch tomorrow, 'cause I just cracked open half of the eggs in my fridge!

I was making eggs yesterday and grinned like a dork when I saw the bullseye staring back at me...lol
