I am not ready to make crosses yet, my chickens arent even quite laying, but I was thinking that when I do I might try this. Not for show or anything, just to have some good layers that add color to my egg basket.
So if I put my ee hens in a pen with my brown leghorn rooster and hatched out their eggs, would their chicks grow up to lay lighter versions of the eggs their mom laid? I have seen people cross ee roosters with leghorn hens and get light blue/green eggs, but I am unsure of how genetics work, so I am asking if the hens could be the color carrying gene.
