Isn't she pretty. I have splash in with black to make sure I get lots of Blues for next year. She has great eye color so will work on that as I improve type. I have four black Orp eggs in the bator growing I brought back from Fl. I have my largest pullets in with Speck my Mottled. I may switch it all around come Spring.

So how do I make sure I get lots of blues? I have that one black from the eggs I got from you. If it's a pullet should I just keep her? I want a Blue roo, so what are my chances of getting blues? Have any extra blue eggs coming up?

They are so pretty Julie, that was one thing I didn't order was the blues, blacks and splashes. We might have to work something out! LOL

Deniece, to get all blues, you breed splash to black, or vice versa, doesn't matter which is the rooster and which is the hen, in this case. If you breed black to blue, you'll get some of each, just those two colors. If you breed blue to blue, you have a chance of any of the three colors, blue, black or splash. Most of the chicks I hatch are blue, overall, from my blue rooster over the two blue hens, but I do get some blacks and an occasional splash.
