Hi all!

I was just wondering...well....exactly what my topic line says-what do you do with wood pellets after you scoop them out?

I use wood shavings not pellets - but same principal - I compost mine.

Put them in a big pile somewhere out of the way & pitchfork them over every other day or so.

In no time you will have great compost for the garden.

Don't put raw droppings or wood chips in the garden though - they will burn the plants.

I use the pellets too, and that was my concern. They are SO much heavier to get rid of. When I spot clean it daily I honestly just throw it into the wood stove when we burn cardboard. Don't forget that they'll turn to dust if you wet them and then they dry out if that helps you any.

I used wood pellets for my brooder last year. Everything went into compost or on garden as it was done for the year. Took us a few trips since I had alot due to 25 chicks. I look forward to this years garden to say the least with all that natural fertilzer in it.
