Hello,
we are new to backyard chickens. WE have 4 chickens that we purchased all at the same time and the same age--about a week old.
We have a buff orpington, a dominique a black astrolorp, and a brown leghorn.
Just today, the black astrolorp is not interested in eating, and seems to be a bit listless. There is NO outward sign of disease--or marks, discharges, wounds, etc etc.. the major symptom seems to be no eating... and a bit listless-- though she walks around the yard etc with no difficulty, again seems outwardly normal.. and the other are completely uneffected.
What is going on here-- and more importantly, what can we do to "cure" the bird? (it has ben very hot here the last few days--though again, till now none of the chickens appeared to be upset by the heat--and they have ample water, etc.
It's a puzzle--thanks
eric
