(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
I know some things here and there, I've read quite a few of y'all's threads way before I ever actually joined. So no, I wouldn't consider myself "new", but I'm sure there are plenty of things I still don't know about.
(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
Including the chicks, that'd be 28 in total.
(3) What breeds do you have?
Two Light brahma hens, buff brahmas (mixed, but you can hardly tell, many think they're pure until I mention the differences. ) A dark brahma rooster, A BLR wyandotte rooster, and a barred rock hen. The rest are all mixed, but i do have some purebreds coming from our chick section of the coop. ( besides the ee's, but I'll put them in there since they are a recognized cross. )
(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens?
Well for a while im obsessed with the chick stage but once we hit the 4th week I'm just ready to find out which ones are cockerels and which are the pullets. If they're mixed I'll be curious to know how they'll turn out when they're older.
