Neighbor hatched out 12 of these USEFUL CHICKENS :love

Perhaps our definitions of useful are different.

Here's the egg I got from mine today. (Yes - just one from my seramas today because 2 hens are broody) Notice how the egg's about the same size as a reg quail egg. Takes about 3 serama eggs to make one REAL egg.

Now I must fight the temptation of hatching it!!!

Just a quick update on the girls. My niece found a great home for them. I will have visitation rights and fishing rights as well!!! So I'm quite happy about that.

I'm so glad you found a home where you can visit them! This is just heart-breaking!! I hope the appeal goes well and that you can bring them home soon.

Speaking of tiny little eggs, my Leghorn started laying and these little baby eggs are so stinking cute!!!! She's laid 5 eggs now since the first on 7/14. All teeny little baby eggs but my middle son who ate the first 3 says they were delicious. Waiting for one more to round out the next lucky consumer. I think one of the others is about to join her soon because someone else was singing today.

I am going to order some non soy layer feed. I have to order more than I will use. If you want to buy a bag or 2 please let me know.
I was using store bag crumble and there is a night and day difference in the eggs. Lose a little flavor but also lose soy (phytoestrogen). Eggs increased production and dont have to supplement calcium.

Can you clarify the benefits of no soy??? :old :idunno
I have a few friends that are Vegetarian/Vegan, (but not the most extreme version), and they wolf down a bunch of soy products. Soy milk, Tofu. They claim it is healthy.
Soy contains plant based estrogen. The studies I've read show estrogen passes to us when we eat the meat. Some people have other health conditions that soy complicates but if you don't know then you probably don't have them.
Its probably ok (phytoestrogen) for older women, I've read the estrogen helps womens hormone levels post menopause.
Estrogen reduces testosterone.
Guys can get man boobs from soy products.
Now you wont stop looking at them lol :plbb:lau

@cavemanrich ever stop to think about the term "Soy Boy" and its correlation to an effeminate male? Or wonder why our dads and grandfathers were such tough birds compared to us not even going to mention millennials.
My opinion is the increasing use of soy in our food. We used to feed animals on pasture, now they are in a warehouse eating from a trough of the cheapest ingredients.
I'm tired and ranting and babbling. Sorry, I've become more passionate about this lately.

I think Frank Thomas must have ate MUCHO Chickens, and SOY PRODUCTS. Otherwise he would not be a spokesman for a product he uses MUCHO..
I see his commercials daily on TV.

I have been eating MUCHO CHICKENS in my lifetime. Corporate chickens I would assume eat cheaper cuts like soy.
I'm still a FLATSIE :old :gig
