No number of chickens or roosters. If I was you I would not get roosters unless you are asking for trouble!

I got a few hens for sale if you are interested. Come on out and visit me!

I do have some of the DE that I bought last year and sold off half a bag to keep the DE fresh. Now I'm roughly about a third down and hopefully next year I will get more. They dont cost too much if you know where to get some. I had to drive two hours to get to the closest feed dealer to get FOOD GRADE DE. As soon as I had gotten the bag, my feed dealer here in town said he can get them for me! It would have save me some dollars!

Hi ewesheep,
What do you mean no number of chickens, you mean no limit or you cant have chickens in town? Code 47 says you can? but they have to be 75 ft. from the actual building your neighbors are living in.you can have them closer to your own house though. You cant have roosters. they (roosters) are considered a noise nuisense . I have a copy of it if you wanna see it. Hmmm. It says specifically you can not have farm animals cattle , swine, sheep goats, but in the next paragraph it talkes about keeping chickens , Fowl or rabbits and then goes on to tell about keeping the coop or pen clean and not stinking. and it does say that you can not sell less than 10 chicks at one time if under 8 weeks old. It just doesn't say how many you can own. But it also doesn't tell you how many dogs you can have eighther. So what do you think.
Thanks Stormylady
Oh also do you get your feed from Garvers?

I mean there is no restriction on number you must have or can not have....heck, I 've got 15 chickens in my coop LOL.

Yes I am aware of the ordiance but the ordiance I got is a few years ago when I got started in getting some chickens. I have the copy of the ordiance but if you got the recent copy, I would love to see it.

I have sold chicks under eight weeks of age and not a problem but they dont know why that number is restrictive.

I get most of my feeds depending on the finances from Rural King, and the Purina Dealer outside of town and Garver's Feeds which they can get me the Purina feed if I needed some.

Hope this info helps!

I
am also selling one Welsummer girl (hatched from Mothergoose's eggs) with this flock. She will be two years old and did lay well for my friend all of last year. Lays terra cotta eggs.

The Blue Amercuana hen may NOT be for sale since I still have to think about it...she is going to be three years old and lays a blueish green egg.

All of them are not laying at this point but will probably kick back to laying around late Feb to late March of this year if all things goes well.
