So much for my first year ever having chicken starting small. We now have 34 chicks...how did those extra four get in there?

And now own a pair of Fluer D'something chickens. I have to do my research on these. My friend called yesterday saying we was cleaning out her chickens because she had to many (this is the friend that lives next to a police station and is stashing them in her garage) So I said I would take the pair. At pick up she put a box in the back of my van and to my suprise 4 baby Seabrights! I snuck them in with my others hoping the husband wouldnt notice but he did. Thankfully he likes chickens! Now just to get this rooster to like me. The pair are a year old, the girl will sit on your lap like a cat for hours...that is if he lets you get to her.

I was just thinking this morning as I let mine out about how I will need to get rid of some of them when the 7 week olds grow enough that I can tell for sure who is a roo. And I hate it. I will need to get rid of all the roos (and one of them is SO SWEET!!!) and two of my grown girls. Because why? I'll be getting more chickens... LOL (well that's not the whole story - but you get the idea)

lol I started out a year ago with 27 chicks...

I know have almost 200 birds!! (chickens and ducks) Numbers are increasing too!! (I have 4 broodies sitting on eggs!!)

you are not an addict but and addict in training! lol

I am an addict. Thankfully I live on about 300 acres and have many outbuildings for the chickies.

I am happy that my DH likes chickens too!
