My chicks arrived from Ideal Hatchery today. They are perfect. They added 4 roosters to the order for warmth. I wish they would document what breed they are. They have strips down their back. They recommended adding surger to their water. Do any of you add sugar? Do I add grit now too? Some say wait.
Congrats on your new babies! I don't typically add sugar to my chicks water. The only exception was when I had one that was weaker from being shipped, and the extra sugar gave her a boost. Either way works.
Also, from what I've heard around here, chicks don't need grit until you start giving them treats.
