hello everyone..about a 2 months ago my hen went broody. it wasnt the 1st time. she was determined we removed her carried her took all the eggs she just wouldnt budge. i began to feel bad. so after a week of trying to break her i gave in. i didnt let her sit on a billion eggs we settled for just one. that seemed to please her. we tryed to keep her comfortable as possible. after the 21 day (we dated the egg) i went to go amd check if there was any peeps nope no peeps. For weeks i kept thinking i habhave e to break her. after the 21day i kept saying im going to break her it didmt hatch i negam to worry about her health.
the next day which was on fathers day to be exact. i got scared lol... my hen became very aggresive she almost took my arm off ... she refused to let me move her to check then i heard it the peeps.... sometime that morning magic happened. their she was a half wet half dry a baby chick.... my joy my joy.... it been weeks since then and let me say this Jelly has bebeen the most determined mommy. i mean it is amazing watching them. my roo and other hen have learned to live with the chick they literally watch it also. ive read stories that chicken are not very motherly but she has been and has her fellow flock following suit. they run when they hear the chick peep loudly. Jelly seems.to be happy with just the one chick and banana our roo just watches it run around while peanut butter just walks around the chick like nothing...... we welcome custard
