Our very first chick was born today! I don't know what to do now, but it looks like mama does. She pulled the rest of the eggs under her and the little chick went under as well.
My husband found a broken egg outside the nest and inside was a baby chick who didn't make it. As we were discussing it and looking at our five broody hens, we saw the little head peek out from under the hen! We were so excited!!!
