I'm a little paranoid about a creepy lady that "creeps" on my birds.

Why am I thinking about the bird lady in Mary Poppins right now......

That's ME when I take meal worms out for my girl's treats!!!

I agree with everyone. While it can be very unsettling... I bet there is a great story there. Me personally, if I saw her coming, I would quietly pick up one of my friendli birds and take it to the front yard and start talking with her. If you get into a friendly conversation, you may even look back on the day when she was chicken stalking and have a great laugh. Or... She could be a chicken genius and you may have the greatest treasure of all chicken knowledge walking by your door! I fascinated by people and collect stories whenever I can.

Yeah, talk to her. It sounds like she's lonely and really just wanting some company. Pick one of your chickens up and take it to her to look at. I don't think she means any harm. What would you estimate her age to be?

We once lived in a house inside the city limits and there is a sidewalk next to our front yard. We have privacy hedges surrounding the front of the home and down both sides. So our hedges are against the sidewalk people use. Our hedges are kept trimmed neatly in a square design and I keep them about 7 foot tall. Not much fun trimming these which I have to do about once a month. Anyway, when we moved into the house there was a elderly lady who walks the sidewalk daily back and forth. We have spoke to her several times and she's always been very nice and complemented us on how neat we keep the hedges saying the other owners of the home before us didn't cut them at all and they city would come out and trim them. Well, after living in the home over 5 years and talking to this lady we get a notice in the mail from the city that we need to trim our hedges??? WHAT!! We trim them monthly. I called the city telling them how neat we keep the hedges and they are welcome to come out anytime and inspect them.

Come to find out this 'nice' little lady had went to city hall and complained to them she had fallen down while walking on the sidewalk after being stung by a wasp! She told them it was because of our hedges and wasps building in them. She told them out hedges needed to be cut down!!

We spoke to city hall about this and they actually told us the old lady was the one who complained and not to worry about it. Seems this old lady complains to them about 1/2 the people in the town, LOL

I definately would not encourage her behavior by offering to let her pet a chicken-in the yard or out of the yard. Her behavior is unacceptable and makes you uncomfortable. I would confront her in a polite non threatening way and let her know you didn't like her peeking into your yard.

One way to discourage her peeking would be to nail batten strips over all the cracks between the boards. If she can't see into your yard, maybe she would go away. I would also find out who she is and where she lives. She is probably harmless, but you just never know.

I haven't seen her lately. @redbarnfarms something somewhat similar happened to us before, we used to have a neighbor that would always compliment the front yard because of the garden. After a couple weeks he stopped coming by and shortly after police came by our place because they said someone complained that we had a whole bunch of tumbleweeds in our front yard and it was a fire hazard. It was the weirdest thing and we figured it was the one neighbor because he started giving us dirty looks. Then he moved last year, but still, weird.

"Feed the birds, tuppence a bag, tuppence, tuppence, tuppence a bag..."

My sister used to collect snow globes and I saw one of that scene. It was almost $500!
