Hello, sorry your hen was injured. She might feel more comfortable in a smaller confined place. You'll have to direct her where to her food and water are, maybe several times, so she can find it by herself...be sure it's always in the same place.

Best wishes!

Hello and welcome to BYC! :frow Glad you joined.
A sweet tempered chicken may help her.
I had a blind horse who had a seeing eye gelding in the paddock with her and she would walk along with him and learned the fence line and where everything was and did great.

Hello there and welcome to BYC!

I am so sorry. You definitely need to make accommodations for her, maybe even make her a house chicken. Here is a thread on crossbeaks, however there are many other special needs birds and owners in this thread too that might be able to help... https://www.backyardchickens.com/th...cial-needs-chickens-and-their-keepers.628361/

I have heard you can set up gurgling water fountains to attract their attention and keep feed tight next to the waterer always in the exact same spot. You can start by sprinkling feed on the floor so she can feel it. Many blind birds do ok!

I have a blind hen. She was attacked and she lost her comb then she went blind she has 3 babies they are all completely free range. I was wanting to know if I should fix a small pen or a large one for her? What should I try to learn her where her food and water are?

Thank you. I will try that, I'm trying to get her to get use to my voice also so maybe that will help.
