As a graphic designer...i hate pintrest. I work for a printer and frequently get people that show up with ideas from pintrest or something they bought off etsy. All I can think is i could do something better than this garbage and WHY

Really!? I love Pinterest for the simple fact that it is a show case for us "unprofessionals" there are so many creative people and they really great ideas that help others come up with their own twist...but I guess that's coming from an untrained eye! And not a very creative one either!

It's great if youre making it yourself but when you just buy garbage that other people make its awful. I prefer hobby lobby. Ill walk around in there for ideas and come home and make something better and more affordable. Also EVERY printer has submission guidelines on their websites. I just wish people including those esty pukes would READ them. Its a nightmare prepressing those files

You know I never thought of Pinterest as people trying to sell their items..I just thought of it as a 'bragging board' of sorts. You pull ideas off of it for when YOU make the sign or chandelier or paint your house or whatever...

...and it gives those who cant delusions of grandeur. Believe me. I just got a text today from a relative asking me to make an old costume into something she found on pintrest. I told her itd be too expensive and she sound just go buy a costume. Then she said "i cant just do that with double stick tape?" Oh sweetie...no.

Awwww thanks! I used to have an Etsy account for my crochet items...mostly bathing suits, of all strange things, haha...I've been spending all my time the last few years raising tiny humans though, so I'm just now getting back into the swing of things.

I havent been sewing very long so i dont have a lot of scraps. Plus its more the principle of the thing. Shes a year older than i am and she treats me like im her invalid grandmother that has nothing better to do than sew her a dress for her sweet sixteen. Just last week she sent me a picture of an oar and wanted me to paint it like the one on pintrest.... Ugh.
She has no clue the time and effort it takes to do this stuff because she tries to get someone else to do it....namely her little sis I have a different "job" every week it seems
