I'm afraid of a VERY small cockeral....and I need to get over it!!

I used to have a Black Rose Comb rooster and a Silver Sebright rooster and they were the meanest things and would flog me and run after me all the time. They would never go inside the coop so they're really wild. Well after the BRC roo chased me all the way from the barn to the back door I was threw w/ it and I was crying I was so upset! Well, lets just say he got lead poisoning about 10 minutes after that.

Well, it is nice to know that I'm not the only one. Of course, since I've posted this, he has been a perfect angel. Haha. But, I'm ready for him the next time he acts like a jerk to me!

Hope he stays a perfect angel!

I have a EE cockerel/roo close to a year old that up till about one month ago was a good boy. Then spring came with hormones and he got nasty one day and spurred me good. Since then I've been carrying him around a bit each day and he has gotten much better. He still has his moments, but nothing like when it first started. One thing that I love is that I have a tom turkey named EVIL B#%$*&D by his previous owner. He was really nasty with is previous owner and he gave him to me. He was good all last fall and winter, but got nasty too this spring. My EE roo flogs the tom every time he even thinks of coming after me. Beats the tom up pretty good if he gets out of line. That make him a great roo in my book. 20 pounds of evil tom turkey is nothing you want sneaking up on you which is what he does. The rooster has my back...

The Tom is semi famous on Youtube. Here is a link if anyone wants to see him with the old owner. Yup, I was just dumb enough to take him. I have Thanksgiving on my mind.

He is in the last couple minutes, but the whole video is pretty good.

He was a sneaky turkey. Nice size for roasting....

If you can't wait for the big holiday I know folks that also enjoy frying the turkey. They come out really tender. Good that your rooster has ya covered.

ditto. I have a little brassy backed OEGB roo that follows me around in the coop pecking at my shoes. As soon as I reach down he'll scramble up my arm and snuggle in the crook of it. I can definitely understand if you don't want him doing that given your eye injury, but he might just be trying to get "the bread bringer's" attention. Does he fly up at you if you don't kick at him? You might try leaning down (with glasses on) and scratching the back of his neck to see how he reacts. If he drops his head and relaxes, he's just wanting attention. If he scurries back and stands tall, yeah, he's probably challenging you and you're right to want to get a handle on it.

Yes I have 2 Silkie roos like this. One is worse then the other. Everytime I try to touch a girl he goes after me. I'm scared of him also but try not to show him that. I chased him around the run and picked him up by the tail. Lol. He still is mean
