I'm afraid to let them freerange...Please help

I moved mine from the house to their coop/run when they were about 7 to 8 weeks old. I started opening their run door so they could come and go in our fenced backyard about a week after that. I was terrified at first and would stay right with them and checked the fence for any holes they might be able to go under. Now they are 14 weeks old and I let them out when I get home from work and on the weekends I let them out all day, as long as I'm home. I'm not neurotic about watching them anymore and just check on them a few times while they're out. They just know to return to the coop when it starts getting dark. They start heading over there at about 8 and I go out about 9 to lock them in. If I need to get them back in there during the day I lure them in with their favorite sunflower seeds. When I'm not home the chickies are in their coop/run - I don't think I'll ever be comfortable letting them free range when I'm not there. I'm a little more comforted though because the other day Ginger, my sweet BO, got separated from the other three and started squawking and my Dobie/Weim mix bolted out the door to make sure she was ok. I thought that was sweet
