I am so proud of myself. I did my first 5K run ever. 5 years ago my doctors doubted I would be able to walk far again let alone this. I didn't win by a long shot, but I passed that finish line in an hour and 15 minutes, without assistance.

Oh did I mention this was while being chased by zombies? now that is serious motivation. Especially when you had this coming at you.

BTW, he s a really cool guy, when he isn't chasing you. I loved his god of war style make up. Not surprising he had a herd of girls following him everywhere.

This was the zombie buffet 5k charity run in Nashville. I and my friends went together.

One of them (Andre) was a zombie. He proudly ate 7 brains (captured seven flags) and nearly pants a girl on accident. He apologized though, and she laughed about it. He is also proud that he captured more flags than the God Of War zombie.

I was zombie chow i half a mile (we had flags that a zombie could grab off of you. If all your flags were removed you had to wear a big Z sticker on your shirt), but that's OK. I came to cross that finish line.

oh and see the hills behind everyone?

That is what we ran in. It was not flat terrain. The hill on the last mile as awful, but the view from the top was breathtaking. I wish I took a picture.

It was a total blast. Some @&$$# stole the grand prizes when the event staff were not looking, though. Who steals from a charity helping the homeless?

Oh and it was in the 40'sF and we had several women running around in skimpy naughty nurse outfits. Some were so short and so tight I have no idea how those women could even walk let alone run.

Still, it was worth the trip. Annnddd here is some more pictures. Not everyone are friends of mine, just people I met there. So many outfits were very clever.

Even the woods are not safe, they would come out of the trees at you.

So there you have it. My friends and I are weird, but we have fun. I passed a personal accomplishment on Saturday, and wear the zombie bracelet with pride.

Congratulations! This is a big trend now. I saw a video for the Run For Your Lives and it looks intriguing. Right now I'm training for Tough Mudder. My husband did it last year, after surviving a massive heart attack, and I'm going to do it with him this year.

Thanks! I ran into several people wearing the Tough Mudder shirts. It sounds grueling.

It is, but not impossible. My husband is a year away from turning 40. All the 20-somethings glanced sideways at him, and about 5 miles after that they quit while he kept going. There was a 70-year-old woman there, and a couple of amputee vets. I figure, if they can do it, what's my excuse? I've never done events before, but TM totally looked worth doing. They have to be more than just running to interest me... like being chased by zombies.

Hehe I agree. I need a zombie smiley now. It is inspiring to see people running those marathons who are so worse off than we are. I have all my limbs and I'm 29. There were elderly women, and obese people, children, and children with bad limps there. They are impressive.

There was also some random guy running round in running shoes and underwear. that's it. He wasn't apart of the race, but he was scarier than the zombies.

Congrats to you! Sounds like you had a good time, too. Who knew being zombie chow could taste so sweet?

Thank! I agree. It does taste sweet. I am just now getting over being s sore though! I pulled a muscle in my foot and it was killing me for a couple of days. How does a person pull a muscle in the bottom of their foot?

I did it once, when I was pregnant...probably from waddling too fast on the way to the refrigerator...lol... Anyway what I did was roll my foot back and forth over a can of frozen orange juice. It really worked!
